Through a theme and 5 variations, this piece conveys in musical terms the effects that Alzheimer’s disease has on the individual. While the piece’s technical demands appear modest, techniques including authentic mistakes and temporal phasing provide unique challenges to satisfy pianists at the late-intermediate through advanced levels.
