A film by Allison Beda and Michael Park

"INTERSECTIONS" a cross disciplinary project, commissioned by
Cineworks Independent Filmmakers Society and Brief Encounters 2014

Brad is brewing tea and gratitude, but is thirty days long enough to steep?

As part of the #30DayGratitude challenge, Brad is taking the time to be #grateful each day. With a camera crew as a not-so-subtle reminder, it begs the question, "Am I grateful?"

Writer/Director Allison Beda turned her first career as a fashion model into the feature documentary How To Be A Model (which critics deemed “an intriguing insider look filled with shattered stereotypes”).  Ms. Beda has a penchant for delightfully, deliriously, awesomely messed-up and (sometimes) pathetic characters, and is particularly fond of telling stories about intelligent women, making inspired, though sometimes foolish choices.  Her short film Just A Minute played as part of the 2010 Winter Olympics, she received a Legacy Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Film” for her short 9-1-Mum, and her BravoTV commission film 30-LOVE has done two world tours.  Allison recently directed a series pilot called Sleeping With The Dead, (which just won “Best Spoof” at the AOF Film Festival) and is writing a screwball comedy feature film adapted from the novel Unpredictable.   Allison Beda’s production company A Muse Productions loves making films about women who make trouble!

Michael Park is a composer and pianist with a keen interest in speech, humour, and collaboration. His music aims to give audiences an experience beyond the realm of traditional concert-going.

Heralded for his innovative projects, his Ted Talk Experiencing Disease Through Music has been described as moving, haunting, and an amazing translation of the disease. In 2013, his opera, Diagnosis: Diabetes was awarded the Gold Medal and BMO Advocacy Award, by the Boston Metro Opera’s International Composer’s Competition.

An accomplished pianist, Michael’s experiences with improvisation and multi-disciplinary collaboration led him to studies in composition. He is a founder and co-director of Art Song Lab, an innovative program that teams composers with poets. He also sits on the board of directors for Vancouver’s Redshift Music Society.
